KIVA

My Alaska journey would be unimaginable for a large percentage of the people on this earth.  Many can't imagine a trip so long and so carefree.  They can't even imagine having a car.  Too many are just struggling to feed their families.

Kiva is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.

If you are interested in making loans directly to people in third world countries, KIVA is a great place to do that.  I've made over 115 loans so far and will continue.  Typically each loan is only $25 but is combined with other lenders to meet an entrepreneur's need.  While there is a risk, I've had 99% repayment!

If you want to give it a try, you can use this link to make your first loan for free.(limited time)
